Section 125 Flexible Spending Accounts
American Fidelity Assurance Company is the Administrator of Clovis Unified’s Section 125 Flexible Spending Account (FSA) for Unreimbursed Medical expenses and Dependent Daycare expenses. An FSA is a type of savings account that employees can elect during the District’s Annual Open Enrollment period that is funded by pre-tax contributions. Meaning the money is deducted from the employee’s paycheck before taxes are taken out. The money an employee contributes to an FSA is not subject to federal, state, or social security taxes, which can lead to a tax savings for the employee. For a list of eligible expenses for the Unreimbursed Medical Expense (FSA) please visit the American Fidelity Website. To estimate your federal income tax savings based on your FSA contributions visit the American Fidelity tax savings calculator.
