In office treatment now available for Molluscum Contagiosum at Sierra Vista Children's Health Center. Molluscum is a common viral skin infection in children. It causes small, round, flesh-colored bumps often with a dimple in the center. it is harmless but can spread and sometimes lasts for many months without treatment. We now offer an effective, FDA approved treatment. The medication is applied in our health center. The application is quick and well tolerated by most children. Treatments are typically spaced about 3 weeks apart and children often need 2 or more visits. The prescription cantharidin 0.7% is for children ages 2 years and older. It may be covered by insurance, including Medi-Cal. Coverage varies by plan, so we will verify your child's coverage. Contact Sierra Vista Children's Health Center at 559-327-7976.
