Positivity Project

A graphic illustration of character strengths and virtues, organized in a circular diagram with categories like courage, wisdom, and justice.

The Positivity Project defines 24 character strengths that every person can access. These strengths empower youth to build positive relationships by understanding, appreciating and exemplifying them in themselves and others. The program, also known as P2, is used by almost all district elementary schools and several intermediate and high schools. It provides weekly, grade-level-specific curriculum on each character strength, and the brief, daily activities help students explore what that week’s character strength looks like in action and how it can be helpful in a variety of situations.

About the Positivity Project

2025 Green Shield Schools

All Clovis Unified elementary schools and several seconday schools participate in the Positivity Project, and this year eight CUSD schools earned P2's top award of a Green Shield designation. The Green Shield is given to a school for its all-in committment and innovation with the Positivity Project in classrooms, around campus and even at home.

Join us celebrating our Green Shield winners and watch for a monthly video spotlight on these exemplary P2 schools that include Century, Clovis, Mickey Cox, Miramonte, Oraze, Weldon and Young elementary schools, and Alta Sierra Intermediate.

  • Weldon Elementary

The Weldon Elementary Warriors sure know how to put the Positivity Project (P2) strengths into action, which is why they were deemed a "Green Shield School" by the national organization! From student reflection tools like weekly journals and planner notes themed around P2 lessons, to upper-grade mediators who assist with conflicts during lower-grade recess, the Warriors are fully embodying positivity.

Principal Ann Castro even watched one Friday afternoon as the football team paused their competitive recess game to share the field with a student with special needs and let him score a touchdown! "It melted my heart!" said Castro.
